UN Security Council
(Double Delegate)

This UN Security Council committee focuses on addressing human rights challenges in Latin America, examining when systematic violations constitute threats to international peace and security that warrant Security Council intervention. The committee will grapple with complex issues including democratic backsliding in countries like Venezuela and Nicaragua, transnational organized crime's impact on civilian populations, and the tension between respecting national sovereignty and the responsibility to protect vulnerable populations. Delegates will need to navigate competing perspectives on intervention versus non-interference while developing practical mechanisms to address root causes of human rights violations across the region.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences

Everyone watches the Oscars– but behind that entertaining annual spectacle is a complicated and multifaceted machine. This organization is made up of TV companies, Actors and Actresses, Comics, Studios, and Social Media Influencers, all of whom put their worth into one night of entertainment. In the shadow of controversy, mishaps, and allegations of misconduct, delegates will traverse this gamut of groups in hopes of appeasing all of them, whilst ensuring that the Academy maintains its relevance, and its viewers, in this new era.

Olympian Council

What is a King to a God? This question is on the minds of the Olympus council as they preside over a decisive turning point in the Trojan War. Whereas previously, the squabbles of petty mortals remain unnoticed by the gods, this conflict has blurred the line between man and the divine. As a group, the Olympus council must decide on the rules for intervention in the world below. Delegates must maintain the sanctity of Mount Olympus, and prevent further fracturing in the divine council whilst doing all they can to promote peace on the ground.

Rhode Island Senate

There is no Brown without Rhode Island, nor Rhode Island without Brown. Faced with further encroachment on Capital Hill, a location that comprises both prime real estate and historical houses and monuments, The State Senate of Rhode Island faces a difficult challenge. Brown intends to grow its campus which will no doubt drive more commerce and activity to the City of Providence, but at the cost of the character, and perhaps the legitimacy of the City. Delegates must act diligently in order to manage the university, but must be careful not to raise tensions between the two groups.
